Recruitment programs

Recruitment services are provided under a written agreement with each fire department or sponsor. Where these terms and an agreement differ, the agreement applies.

Verified applicants

A verified applicant completes the volunteer application, lives in the target area and meets the department's minimum qualifications. The exact definition, and how applicants who do not meet it are handled, is set out in each agreement.

Departments make their own decisions

FireDepartment.net delivers applications and helps with follow-up. Each fire department decides whom to interview and accept, and runs its own background checks, medical requirements and training.

No guaranteed numbers

We do not guarantee a number of applicants or volunteers.

Directory listings show the date they were last verified and their sources. Information can change; contact the department to confirm details. In an emergency, call 911.
