Google Ad Grants for volunteer recruitment
Google gives qualifying nonprofits up to $10,000 a month in free search ads. Managed well, that can put your volunteer opportunity in front of the people searching for it.
Who qualifies
Google requires a registered 501(c)(3) organization. Government entities are not eligible, which means most city fire departments and fire districts do not qualify. Nonprofit fire departments, volunteer firefighters associations, fire chiefs associations and other fire service nonprofits that hold 501(c)(3) status may. See Google's eligibility rules and Ad Grants program page.
Why it needs management
Google sets strict rules for how grant accounts are run, and accounts that do not follow them can lose the grant. Ads also only show when someone searches for something your site has a page for. Without a volunteer page and an application, few people searching "how do I become a volunteer firefighter" will ever reach you, even with ads.
What we do
- Help you apply for the grant.
- Build the pages the ads point to: volunteer recruitment, events, fundraising and wildfire safety.
- Set up and run the account within Google's rules.
- Report on applications and other results.
