Statewide and regional programs
A statewide program can bring volunteers to departments that could never afford recruitment on their own. It is also easy to spend money on one without getting more volunteers, unless it is set up right.
Why a statewide program is not do-it-yourself
- Every department has different requirements, training schedules and ways of operating.
- Each applicant has to reach the right department, one close enough to respond from where they live.
- Applicants lose interest if nobody follows up quickly, and follow-up across dozens of departments needs coordinating.
- Sponsors and boards will want to see results, so every applicant needs to be tracked from first contact to training.
What a program includes
- A recruitment page for each participating department, with its own requirements and contact information.
- Applicants matched to departments by distance from their stations.
- Applications delivered to each department, or to a statewide volunteer coordinator.
- Tracking and follow-up support for every applicant.
- Marketing across the state that sends people to the right department.
Who runs these programs
Fire chiefs associations, firefighters associations, state fire marshal offices and other state or county organizations. See the pages for fire chiefs associations and firefighters associations.
Cost
Programs start with recruitment at $40 per verified applicant. Statewide marketing runs $10,000 to $20,000 a year. See pricing.
Experience
We spent six to seven years working with the Nevada Fire Chiefs Association on statewide volunteer recruitment. See our track record.
